Dubai International Film Festival 2014

DIFF celebrated its 11th edition from 10-17 December, with a week of Arabic and international films, gala evenings and awards. DFTC unveiled its new corporate video and Jamal Al Sharif was interviewed by leading international and local media, including Empire Magazine and the Huffington Post. International media were given a tour of Dubai Studio City’s Sound Stages, the largest of their kind in the region, where they saw the latest production and post-production facilities, including the region’s largest green screen.

‘In Conversation’ with Welcome Back at DIFF

DIFF welcomed Bollywood blockbuster Welcome Back, for an ‘In Conversation’ session at DIFF 2014. Welcome Back shot 90% of the film in Dubai, and enjoyed the Emirate’s diverse locations and backdrops, as well as world-class infrastructure and facilities during filming.

The day started with a press junket for the stars, director and producer involving interviews with local, regional and international media. The event took place in the Madinat Theatre and was very well attended.

Commenting on their shooting experience in Dubai, Firaz Nadiadwala, Producer of Welcome Back said: “I would like to thank the team from Dubai Film and TV Commission for ensuring such an enjoyable and seamless filming experience in Dubai. The Emirate is an unrivalled filming destination due to its variety of unique locations, infrastructure and facilities, as well as its close proximity to India, and DIFF was the perfect platform to promote the film.”
